Artificial Intelligence (AI) Commitment

The Moose Hide Campaign exists to bring people together in ceremony, conversation, and action to help end gender-based violence. Relationships, lived experience, and Indigenous ways of knowing are at the heart of everything we do. 

Artificial intelligence is becoming part of many of the tools we use every day. We believe these tools can support our work when used thoughtfully, but they should never replace the people, stories, and relationships that make this movement possible. 

We are committed to using AI in ways that reflect our values of respect, honesty, accountability, and care. 

Our Commitments

People come first.
AI can help with administrative tasks, research, and drafting ideas, but people remain responsible for every decision, every message, and every relationship. 

Indigenous voices cannot be replaced.
AI will never replace the lived experiences, teachings, knowledge, or leadership of Indigenous Peoples. Those voices must always come directly from the people who hold them. 

Authenticity matters.
We use AI to support our work, not to create a false sense of connection. Our communications should reflect the genuine voice of the Moose Hide Campaign and the people behind it. Photographs shared by the Campaign represent real people, real communities, and real moments. Our illustrations, graphics, and visual designs are created by people, not generated by AI. 

We remain accountable.
Any content created with the assistance of AI is reviewed by staff before it is shared publicly. Accuracy, tone, and cultural appropriateness are always a human responsibility. 

We continue to learn.
Technology will continue to evolve, and so will our approach. We will regularly review how AI is used to ensure it continues to align with our values and our responsibility to the communities we serve.
