Join us for a panel discussion exploring our collective journey of Truth and Reconciliation in Canada, featuring bestselling author and journalist Waubgeshig Rice of Wasauksing First Nation, whose work explores contemporary Anishinaabe life, culture, community and storytelling.

About Waubgeshig
Waubgeshig Rice grew up in Wasauksing First Nation on Georgian Bay and now resides in Sudbury, Ontario with his wife and three sons. He’s written five works of fiction, most notably the novel Moon of the Crusted Snow and its sequel Moon of the Turning Leaves, published in 2018 and 2023 respectively. He’s a former broadcast journalist, current novelist, and ongoing Anishinaabemowin learner. He holds a journalism degree from Toronto Metropolitan University, an honorary Doctorate of Letters from Nipissing University, a diploma in Anishnaabemowin and Program Development from Georgian College, and a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. His forthcoming novel, Early Bird, will be published by Random House Canada in April 2027.
